Get to know the routes of Citi Handlowy IRONMAN 70.3 Warsaw

We present the routes that were prepared for the first edition of Citi Handlowy IRONMAN 70.3 Warsaw. Triathletes will visit the very heart of Warsaw and will have the opportunity to admire the unique monuments of the Old Town and Krakowskie Przedmieście, as well as other characteristic landmarks of the capital. The event is scheduled for June 6 this year.

A few new things are waiting for the participants of this year's IRONMAN competition in Warsaw. In addition to the well-known competition within Citi Handlowy 5150 Warsaw, Citi Handlowy IRONMAN 70.3 Warsaw will also be held for the first time, i.e. the competition on the so-called IRONMAN half. In total, triathletes will have to cover 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km by bike and a 21.1 km long running stage.

Following the example of previous years and the rivalry of Citi Handlowy 5150 Warsaw, the competitors will start competing in Zalew Zegrzyński. After completing the assumed distance, triathletes will set off on a fast and flat bicycle route that will lead them to the vicinity of Radzymin, and then through Nieporęt. Next, the route will lead along the Żerań Canal, then the competitors will enter the North Bridge onto Wisłostrada. There, the widest and fastest part of the route awaits them, including a tunnel crossing near the Świętokrzyski Bridge. They will turn back at Czerniakowska Street, before the intersection with ul. Gagarin and will head back towards the Old and New Towns.

The cycling stage at Citi Handlowy IRONMAN 70.3 Warsaw is 90 kilometres. The route is primarily flat and fast, but also wide in many places, and thus comfortable and safe for triathletes. Numerous long straights, as well as the possibility of passing the tunnel on the Wisłostrada or passing several characteristic objects on the map of Warsaw, will make the riders feel a lot of fun from the ride. The run course seems to be even more interesting in this respect.

The Citi Handlowy IRONMAN 70.3 Warsaw running route is just over 21 kilometres. There will be 4 loops to go through the very heart of Warsaw, thanks to which you will be able to admire a number of monuments. The running stage will start in the vicinity of the Polonia Warszawa stadium. From Konwiktorska Street, triathletes will run along Bonifraterska Street, along the Krasiński Palace and along Miodowa Street and along Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, they will head towards the building of the Polish Academy of Sciences, at the height of which they will turn back. Running again along Krakowskie Przedmieście, they will pass the Presidential Palace, and then the building of the Supreme Court. The location of the finish line is completely new. This year the finish will take place in the unique surroundings of the Multimedia Fountain Park.
